The Pinot Blanc DOC Pica 2024 from Grottnerhof is produced on the steep slopes at the entrance to the Isarco Valley, at the foot of the Sciliar massif. The vineyards are rooted in calcareous moraine soils with quartz porphyry subsoils at elevations ranging from 450 to 550 metres above sea level. The combination of an Alpine climate, significant day-to-night temperature variations and mineral-rich soils gives the wine its elegance, precision and strong sense of place. The grapes are carefully harvested and gently vinified, with fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and varietal character.

Pinot Blanc is one of South Tyrol’s most important white grape varieties and thrives particularly well in the higher-altitude vineyards surrounding the Isarco Valley and the Sciliar area. These conditions allow the variety to develop remarkable freshness, refined minerality and a distinctive aromatic finesse that have become hallmarks of South Tyrolean Pinot Blanc. In the glass, Pica 2024 reveals a harmonious and elegant profile. The bouquet offers notes of ripe peach complemented by subtle spicy nuances. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy on entry, supported by a well-balanced structure and vibrant minerality. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a fresh and refined impression that highlights the authentic character of South Tyrol’s Pinot Blanc.
