Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG
The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2022 by Fumanelli is produced in the heart of Valpolicella Classica from Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes. The vines are around 40 years old on average and are traditionally trained using the Pergola Veronese system. The grapes are harvested by hand and transferred in small crates to drying rooms, where they rest for around 120 days, losing a significant proportion of their weight and concentrating both aromas and structure. After a cold maceration and a long fermentation, the wine matures for 30 months in second- and third-use French tonneaux. This is followed by a further eight months of bottle ageing. It pairs especially well with braised meats, game, mature cheeses and rich pasta or risotto dishes. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet reveals ripe raspberry, sour cherry, plum, nutmeg and vanilla. On the palate, it is intense and elegant, with soft, well-integrated tannins, harmonious structure and a long, persistent finish.
