Rosso del Salento "Portulano"
The Rosso del Salento IGT Portulano 2021 from Rosa del Golfo is an intense and structured red wine from the Apulia region. This wine is deep ruby red and develops a rich bouquet of dark berries, plums, and subtle spicy notes, accompanied by nuances of tobacco and leather. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a harmonious, long finish.
Made from a blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera, these autochthonous grape varieties reflect the typical characteristics of the region. Negroamaro brings in intense fruit aromas and powerful tannins, while Malvasia Nera adds additional aromatic complexity and softness. This combination gives the wine a balanced structure and depth.
The Mediterranean climate of Salento, with warm days and cool nights, as well as the calcareous soils offer perfect conditions for growing these grape varieties. This environment contributes to the minerality and freshness of the wine, which is typical of the region. The name “Portulano” refers to the historic maritime trade routes and symbolizes the winery's connection to its maritime environment.
