The Soave Classico DOC La Froscà 2023 from
Gini is a characterful white wine from the historic
heart of the Soave appellation in Veneto. The grapes come from the
single vineyard La Froscà in Monteforte d’Alpone, a volcanic hillside site that gives the wine its remarkable elegance and mineral finesse. The wine is made from
100% Garganega, the indigenous grape variety at the heart of great Soave wines, which expresses volcanic soils with precision, salinity, and excellent ageing potential. It is also a certified organic wine, reflecting the estate’s careful and sustainable vineyard work.
The name
La Froscà refers to the volcanic hill where the old vines are planted. Part of the wine is aged in stainless steel, while a small portion matures in oak, creating a harmonious balance between freshness and structure.
In the glass, it shows a bright pale straw-yellow colour with green-golden reflections. The nose reveals elegant aromas of white peach, pear, acacia blossom, and fine mineral nuances. On the palate, it is savoury, precise, and balanced, with lively freshness, delicate spice, and a long mineral finish.
