Trentangeli Castel del Monte DOC 2021 is produced at Tenuta Bocca di Lupo, an organically farmed estate in Minervino Murge owned by the Antinori family, in the heart of the Castel del Monte appellation in Puglia. With this wine, the estate showcases the elegant and approachable character of Aglianico, one of Southern Italy’s most important grape varieties. The vineyards are located on the limestone plateaus of the Murgia, where significant temperature differences between day and night encourage slow and even ripening. These conditions help preserve freshness, balance and aromatic precision. Following fermentation, the wine matures for several months in French and Hungarian oak barriques, adding depth and structure while maintaining harmony. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of cherry, pomegranate and red berries, complemented by subtle notes of cocoa, vanilla, liquorice and white pepper. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced, with lively tannins, refined spice and a long, persistent finish.
