The Chardonnay DOC Fallwind 2025 from Kellerei St. Michael-Eppan perfectly reflects the distinctive character of the Fallwind line. The name refers to the characteristic downslope wind that flows through the vineyards around Appiano, helping preserve freshness, aromatic precision, and remarkable elegance in the wines. This line is a true expression of the terroir, combining low yields, careful manual vineyard work, and precise winemaking in the cellar.
Chardonnay is one of Alto Adige’s most important white grape varieties and finds ideal growing conditions around Appiano. The balance of sunny days, cool nights, and mineral-rich soils gives the wine structure, finesse, and beautifully integrated freshness. In this area, the grape often develops particularly pure fruit and a refined creamy texture.
In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow color. On the nose, elegant aromas of ripe apple, melon, and delicate citrus notes unfold. On the palate, it is full-bodied and smooth, with a silky texture, balanced freshness, and a long, fruit-driven, elegant finish.
