The Pinot Noir Riserva DOC Aton 2020 by
Elena Walch is an expressive South Tyrolean red wine that beautifully reflects the elegance and finesse of this grape variety. The grapes come from carefully selected vineyard sites located between 400 and 600 metres above sea level in the
Glen and Barleith vineyards above Tramin. Complex soils, predominantly limestone and clay, together with the perfect balance of sunny days and cool nights, give the wine remarkable structure, freshness, and depth.
The designation Riserva indicates a particularly strict selection of the finest grapes as well as an extended ageing period. In the case of the Aton 2020, this highlights its premium quality level and the additional complexity developed through long maturation. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine was aged for 12 months in medium-toast French oak barriques, followed by a further 12 months in stainless steel and around 15 months in bottle.
In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red colour. The bouquet is defined by dark forest berries, ripe cherry, fine spice notes, and a subtle hint of smoke. On the palate, the wine is elegant and precise, with a silky texture, vibrant freshness, and mineral depth. The long, spicy finish makes it an exceptionally characterful Pinot Noir from South Tyrol.
