The Pinot Noir Riserva DOC Vigna Kofl 2023 from Peter Zemmer is an elegant and terroir-driven red wine from South Tyrol. The grapes come from the single vineyard “Vigna Kofl” in Mazon, one of the most renowned areas for Pinot Noir. The vineyards are located at altitudes between 350 and 450 meters and are characterized by calcareous and clay soils, providing ideal conditions for this variety, which expresses finesse and structure here. After hand harvesting, the grapes are gently processed and fermented at controlled temperatures. The maceration is carefully managed to extract color, aromas and fine tannins. The wine is then aged for an extended period in small oak barrels and further refined in bottle. This extended aging defines the “Riserva” designation, adding complexity, structure and aging potential. Pinot Noir is one of the most elegant and complex grape varieties, known for its finesse, delicate fruit and balanced structure. In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of red berries, cherry and subtle spice notes emerge. On the palate, it is elegant and harmonious, with silky tannins, fresh acidity and a long, refined finish.
