The Amarone Classico DOCG 2016 from Bertani is one of the great classics of Valpolicella and perfectly represents the elegant, tradition-driven style of this iconic wine. The blend consists of 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella, two grape varieties deeply rooted in the Valpolicella Classica area. Corvina in particular gives the Amarone its intense cherry character, fine spice and remarkable structure, while Rondinella adds further finesse and aromatic depth. After harvest, the grapes undergo a natural drying process for 78 days, concentrating aromas and structure in a unique way. The wine is then aged for 7 years in large Slavonian oak casks followed by an additional year in bottle, creating extraordinary complexity and excellent ageing potential.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The bouquet is broad and complex, with ripe cherry, plum, violet, cedar wood, liquorice and fine balsamic notes. On the palate, it is powerful and deep, yet remarkably precise, with lively acidity, silky tannins and a long, spicy finish marked by hints of dark chocolate and delicate smoky notes.
