The Grauvernatsch DOC 2024 from Kurtatsch Winery is a classic, light-bodied red wine from the southern Alto Adige. The vineyards are located between 300 and 450 meters above sea level with southeast exposure, on sandy, loamy soils rich in dolomite. These conditions allow for balanced ripening and give the wine its characteristic elegance and finesse. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in concrete tanks to preserve a pure and authentic style. Grauvernatsch is one of the most traditional expressions of the Vernatsch family in Alto Adige. In the warm, well-ventilated areas of the region, it develops a light structure, soft tannins and excellent drinkability, typical of local red wines. In the glass, the wine is approachable and harmonious. The nose shows notes of cherry and red berries with subtle herbal and spicy hints. On the palate it is smooth and balanced, with silky tannins and gentle acidity. The finish is fresh, round and pleasantly fruity.
