The Lagrein DOC 2025 from Terlan Winery beautifully expresses the character of one of Alto Adige’s most historic native grape varieties. Originally rooted in the Bolzano area, Lagrein also thrives in Terlan, where the combination of Alpine climate and mineral-rich soils gives the wine depth, structure and elegance. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and gently vinified, followed by several months of ageing in large oak casks, creating a harmonious balance and a smooth, velvety texture.

Lagrein is one of the region’s most distinctive red grape varieties, highly valued for its dark fruit profile, subtle spice and soft tannins. In Alto Adige, it shows a unique balance of power and finesse, making it a true classic of the local wine tradition. In the glass, it reveals a deep garnet red colour. The bouquet opens with notes of dried cranberry, sour cherry and delicate floral hints of lilac, complemented by nuances of bay leaf and fine chocolate. On the palate, it is juicy, full-bodied and harmonious, with silky tannins and a long, smooth, velvety finish.
