The Pinot Noir Riserva DOC Vigna ZIS Mazzon 2019 from Brunnenhof Mazzon is one of Alto Adige’s most impressive red wines, beautifully showcasing the exceptional quality of the Mazzon hillside above Neumarkt. As an organic wine, it is produced in one of Italy’s most renowned areas for Pinot Noir, internationally recognised for wines of elegance, precision and ageing potential. The vineyards benefit from limestone-rich soils, southeast exposure and significant temperature differences between day and night, creating ideal conditions for refined and expressive wines. On the Mazzon plateau, Pinot Noir develops a remarkable balance of freshness, finesse and depth.
The Vigna ZIS is a selected single vineyard of Brunnenhof, highlighting a particularly authentic expression of terroir. The winery’s focus on organic viticulture further enhances the wine’s precision and identity. As a Riserva, the wine undergoes extended ageing, gaining additional complexity, structure and ageing potential while preserving the elegance typical of Pinot Noir.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of red berries, sour cherry and wild raspberry, accompanied by refined spice, forest floor notes and delicate toasted nuances. On the palate, the Pinot Noir is elegant and profound, with silky tannins, vibrant freshness and a long, finely spiced finish.
