The Pinot Noir Riserva DOC Abtei 2023 from Klosterkellerei Muri-Gries showcases the remarkable potential of Alto Adige for producing outstanding Pinot Noir (Pinot Nero) wines. The vineyards benefit from warm days and cool nights, creating ideal conditions for wines that combine elegance with depth. In Alto Adige, Pinot Noir develops a particularly refined character, balancing fruit, freshness and structure, often with a distinctive mineral precision. Carefully selected grapes are used for this wine and undergo extended ageing to achieve greater complexity and depth.

As a Riserva, the wine is matured for a longer period, enhancing its expression, finesse and ageing potential. This additional maturation provides more structure and creates a harmonious balance between ripe fruit and subtle spicy nuances. The “Abtei” line by Muri-Gries stands for wines of particular character, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. In the glass, the wine displays an intense ruby red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of red berries and ripe cherry, accompanied by delicate spicy notes and subtle hints of toast. On the palate, the Pinot Noir is elegant and well-structured, with vibrant freshness, fine tannins and a long, harmonious finish.
