The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Luce 2021 from Tenuta Luce della Vite, now part of the Frescobaldi family, is a distinguished Tuscan red wine that beautifully reflects the excellence of Montalcino. The wine is produced mainly from Sangiovese, an indigenous grape variety grown in the Madonnino vineyard and other parcels of Tenuta Luce, on galestro soils that contribute structure, elegance and depth. Brunello di Montalcino was the first Italian wine to receive DOCG status in 1980 and is today regarded as one of the great icons of Italian winemaking. The Luce Brunello 2021 represents a refined balance between tradition and modern interpretation: following careful hand harvesting and fermentation, the wine is aged for at least 36 months in oak, developing dense tannins and excellent ageing potential. In the glass, the 2021 vintage shows an intense, brilliant ruby-red colour, indicating concentration and maturity. On the nose, it reveals a complex bouquet of dark berries such as blackberry and sour cherry, complemented by floral hints and spicy nuances of tobacco, forest floor and balsamic notes. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet refined, with firmly structured tannins, vibrant acidity and a clear mineral freshness that leads into a long, deep finish. A Brunello of great character, offering an authentic expression of the Montalcino terroir.
