Montalcino in Tuscany. This wine brings together tradition and modernity in a powerful cuvée of
Merlot and Sangiovese, reflecting the distinctive terroir of the region. Merlot contributes soft, fruit-driven richness, while Sangiovese provides structure, freshness and elegant acidity. The vineyards are situated on the sunny hills surrounding Montalcino, on clay- and stone-rich soils that promote optimal grape ripening. Following careful hand harvesting, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by several months of ageing in barriques, partly new, adding complexity and balance to the Luce 2023. This combination of international style and Tuscan identity makes Luce IGT a versatile yet refined wine.
In the glass, the 2023 vintage displays an intense ruby-red colour with violet highlights. The nose reveals a rich, enticing bouquet of ripe dark berries such as blackberry and cherry, complemented by spicy and balsamic nuances and a subtle toasty note. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and harmonious, with juicy fruit, smooth, well-integrated tannins and a vibrant acidic structure that leads into a long, elegant finish.
