The Klaser Riserva Cuvée DOC Stoanodler 2023 from Niklaserhof combines two internationally respected grape varieties with the distinct character of South Tyrol. This blend of Lagrein and Cabernet Sauvignon comes from carefully selected vineyards around Bolzano, where warm days and cool nights create ideal conditions for structured and expressive red wines. As South Tyrol’s native grape variety, Lagrein contributes dark fruit, spice and smooth tannins, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds depth, structure and aromatic complexity. In the Bolzano area, these two varieties complement each other particularly well, resulting in characterful wines with excellent ageing potential.

The Riserva designation refers to an extended ageing period, giving the wine additional depth, balance and complexity. Through maturation, the cuvée gains structure while maintaining freshness and a clear sense of origin. The name “Stoanodler” also reflects the influence of the stony soils that shape the wine’s identity. In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of dark berries, blackcurrant and ripe cherries, complemented by subtle spicy notes and delicate hints of toast. On the palate, the Riserva is powerful yet harmonious, with ripe fruit, well-integrated tannins and a long, elegant finish.
