The Pinot Blanc DOC Hos 2025 from Niklaserhof beautifully reflects the alpine freshness and elegance for which this grape variety is especially valued in Alto Adige. Pinot Blanc is one of the region’s most important white grape varieties and develops particularly precise fruit and refined minerality in the higher vineyards around Caldaro. For the Hos, the grapes come from several vineyard sites, mostly located above 500 meters in altitude. The combination of calcareous gravel soils, porphyry sand, and cool nighttime temperatures gives the wine its freshness, structure, and distinctive refined style. After a short skin contact period, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by several months of aging on the fine lees. In the glass, it shows a bright greenish-yellow color. The bouquet is fine and fruit-driven, with notes of apple, pear, and fresh citrus fruits. On the palate, it is lively, mineral, and elegant, with juicy fruit, fine tension, and a harmonious, persistent finish.
