The Pinot Blanc DOC "Wir mussten Künstler sein" 2024 from Andi Sölva is a distinctive white wine from South Tyrol, combining the traditional winemaking heritage of the Lake Kaltern region with an individual style. Its unusual name pays tribute to previous generations of winemakers, whose craftsmanship and experience have played an important role in shaping the region's winemaking traditions. The grapes come from young vines growing on limestone-rich gravel soils surrounding Kaltern. Careful ageing for eight months in French oak barrels gives this Pinot Blanc its distinctive structure and aromatic depth. The combination of terroir, grape variety and oak maturation creates an expressive wine with remarkable personality. It pairs beautifully with fish dishes, Mediterranean specialities and smoked ham. In the glass, it displays a delicate straw-yellow colour. Its complex bouquet reveals elegant aromas of elderflower, yellow apple, grapefruit and peach. On the palate, it impresses with a powerful yet balanced structure, a pleasant savoury touch and a long, distinctive finish.
