The Lagrein IGT RF 2023 from Roberto Ferrari is a distinctive red wine from South Tyrol, combining the authenticity of its origins with elegance and expressive character. The grapes come from a small vineyard in Auer, a village with a long winemaking tradition in the southern part of South Tyrol. Here, the indigenous Lagrein grape variety finds ideal conditions to develop its unmistakable character.
Roberto Ferrari follows a natural approach to winemaking, keeping intervention to a minimum. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks without mechanical or manual intervention.
The wine then matures for 18 months in previously used wooden barrels before bottling. This careful production process creates an authentic Lagrein that combines intensity, character and finesse. It pairs beautifully with game dishes, braised meats and aged cheeses.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby-red colour. Its expressive bouquet reveals aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries and delicate floral nuances, accompanied by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet elegant, with balanced tannins, refreshing fruit character and a refined mineral touch.
