The Müller Thurgau DOC 2024 from Hans Rottensteiner is a characterful South Tyrolean white wine that harmoniously combines freshness, aromatic intensity, and elegance. This grape variety thrives particularly well in South Tyrol’s higher-altitude vineyards, where cool nights help develop its delicate aromatic profile and lively acidity. According to the producer, the grapes mainly come from vineyards above Bolzano at around 600 to 700 metres above sea level. These elevated sites give the Müller Thurgau its typical freshness and aromatic precision. The variety is known for its floral and lightly spicy notes, which in South Tyrol are expressed with particular elegance. Thanks to the porphyry-rich soils, the wine also gains a fine mineral tension. In the glass, it shows a bright pale straw-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The nose reveals delicate aromas of elderflower, nutmeg, and light citrus notes. On the palate, it is fresh, lively, and well-balanced, supported by elegant acidity, subtle salinity, and a harmonious, aromatic finish.
