The Kerner DOC Vinschgau 2025 from Meran Winery originates from the Vinschgau Valley, one of the most alpine wine-growing areas in South Tyrol. The vineyards are located at around 600 meters above sea level on poor, sandy soils composed of slate, granite and gneiss, which give the wine its mineral character and precision. The Kerner grape, a cross between Trollinger and Riesling, finds ideal conditions here. The dry climate, strong day-night temperature differences and altitude promote slow ripening, resulting in highly aromatic and well-structured wines. The wine is aged in stainless steel with a short cold maceration followed by about six months on fine lees, preserving freshness and expression. In the glass, it shows a bright straw-yellow color with greenish reflections. On the nose, notes of peach and subtle hints of nutmeg emerge. On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with lively acidity, juicy fruit and a fresh, persistent finish.
