The Pinot Grigio DOC Festival 2024 from Merano Winery is a classic white wine from the Burggrafenamt area, clearly reflecting the regional style. The grapes come from vineyards located between 280 and 350 meters around Merano and Marlengo, where the variety thrives. The soils, consisting of humus-rich sandy loam with granite and gneiss, contribute to the wine’s structure and minerality. Pinot Grigio is one of the most important white grape varieties in South Tyrol and expresses itself here with a fresh, fruit-driven and well-defined style. A distinctive feature of the grape is its slightly reddish skin, although it is vinified as a white wine, resulting in a clean and elegant profile. The Festival line represents approachable, terroir-driven wines that highlight the character of each grape variety. The wine is aged in stainless steel with a short cold maceration and subsequent maturation on fine lees, enhancing freshness and aromatic expression. In the glass, it shows a bright greenish-yellow color. On the nose, fresh aromas of green apple and banana emerge. On the palate, it is balanced and structured, with lively acidity and a fresh, medium-length finish.
