The Sauvignon Riserva DOC “Mervin” 2021 from Merano Winery comes from selected high-altitude vineyards around Merano, where cool nights and warm days create ideal conditions for precise and aromatic white wines. Mineral-rich soils contribute to the wine’s tension and finesse. This wine represents the winery’s top range and is produced only in the best vintages. Sauvignon is one of South Tyrol’s most important white grape varieties and, in the hillside vineyards around Merano, develops a particularly refined and elegant profile. It expresses freshness, precision and complex aromatics strongly influenced by the terroir. Vinification includes selective hand harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing partly in stainless steel and partly in wood, combining freshness with complexity. In the glass, it shows a bright yellow colour. The nose reveals intense aromas of gooseberry, citrus fruits and fresh herbs, accompanied by mineral and slightly smoky notes. On the palate, it is precise, fresh and complex, with lively acidity, elegant structure and a long, mineral finish.
