The Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC Ognisanti di Novare 2022 from Bertani originates from the renowned Ognisanti vineyard at Tenuta Novare in Arbizzano di Negrar, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classica region. Covering approximately 2.92 hectares, the single vineyard is divided into eight west-facing terraces with limestone and marl soils, which give the wine its elegance and distinctive mineral character. The blend consists of 95% Corvina and 5% Rondinella. After vinification, the wine matures for one year in French oak barrels and is then aged for at least six additional months in bottle, allowing it to gain further depth and balance. In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of fresh red berries complemented by delicate spicy notes and refined elegance. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet harmonious, supported by lively acidity and well-integrated tannins that provide structure without overwhelming the wine. The finish is long, savoury and subtly spicy, making it an excellent companion to hearty meat dishes and aged cheeses.
