Contratto Alta Langa DOCG Pas Dosé Millesimato 2022 is made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. The grapes come from Bossolasco in Piedmont’s Alta Langa. This Millesimato reflects Contratto’s tradition of producing vintage sparkling wines that highlight the distinctive characteristics of each individual harvest. After destemming, the grapes are handled gently to obtain the finest and most balanced juice. The first fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, where the base wine subsequently ages for around nine months. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Traditional Method. This is followed by at least 30 months of ageing on the lees, while riddling is carried out by hand. In the glass, it displays an intense straw-yellow colour. The aroma is fine and delicate, with floral and citrus notes. On the palate, it is fresh and pleasantly savoury, complemented by an exceptionally fine and persistent perlage.
