The Torilan DOC 2024 from Terlan Winery is an elegant red blend that beautifully interprets the classic combination of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Known from the Bordeaux tradition, this blend also thrives in Alto Adige, where the Alpine climate, mineral-rich soils and warm valley sites provide finesse and structure. Merlot gives the wine its smooth texture and rich dark fruit character, while Cabernet Sauvignon adds spice, depth and fine tannins. In the Terlan area, both varieties develop a remarkable balance of fruit, elegance and freshness. The hand-harvested grapes are slowly fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for 7–10 months in large oak casks, adding further harmony and complexity.
In the glass, it shows an intense garnet red with ruby reflections. The bouquet combines blackcurrant, dark cherry, blackberry and delicate notes of green pepper, smoke and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant, with juicy dark fruit, subtle spice, well-integrated tannins and a long, harmonious finish.
