The Barolo DOCG Prapò 2022 from Paolo Scavino comes from the renowned single vineyard Prapò in Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most structured areas of the Barolo appellation. The vineyards are located at around 370 meters above sea level with southeast exposure and are characterized by calcareous marl and sandy soils of the Lequio formation. These conditions give the wine power, depth and a pronounced mineral structure. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts, followed by a maceration of around 10–12 days to extract color and structure. The wine is then aged for about two years in a combination of French barriques and large oak casks, followed by further refinement in bottle. Nebbiolo is the grape variety at the core of this Barolo, known for its firm tannin structure, vibrant acidity and excellent aging potential. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red color tending towards garnet. On the nose, aromas of red fruits, rose, balsamic notes and fine spices emerge. On the palate, it is powerful and structured, with precise tannins, fresh acidity and a long, mineral finish.
