The Gewürztraminer Passito DOC Sonus 2024 from Ritterhof is a distinctive South Tyrolean dessert wine made from carefully selected, naturally dried grapes. The vineyards are located around Tramin and in the Überetsch and Unterland areas, on calcareous clay soils at elevations between 320 and 400 meters—ideal conditions for producing intensely aromatic wines. The grapes are hand-harvested shortly before Christmas after partially drying on the vine. This natural concentration enhances both aroma and sweetness. After a short cold maceration, fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures, followed by aging on fine lees, adding depth and structure. Gewürztraminer is one of South Tyrol’s most aromatic grape varieties, known for its expressive fruit and spicy notes. In its passito style, it becomes particularly rich and concentrated, combining natural sweetness with a refreshing acidity that ensures balance. In the glass, it shows a bright golden color. The bouquet reveals intense aromas of mango, ripe apricot and exotic fruits. On the palate, it is rich and harmonious, with elegant sweetness, lively acidity and a long, persistent finish.
