Dolomytos Amphora White
The Dolomytos Amphora White 2021 from the Dolomytos Sacker estate is an exceptional South Tyrolean white wine, distinguished by its unique production method, remarkable complexity and unmistakable personality. This rare cuvée brings together Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Souvignier Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Greek grape varieties such as Assyrtiko. The combination of different grapes gives this wine its distinctive character.
The vines grow in Unterinn on the Renon plateau, at approximately 500 metres above sea level. Steep, sun-drenched south-facing slopes and weathered porphyry soils shape the origins of this remarkable wine. Its production follows an elaborate process: the grapes ferment together with their skins in amphorae holding approximately 250 litres. After eight to nine months, the wine is drawn off and continues to mature for another two to three years in small oak barrels known as Cigarillos. It is neither fined nor filtered. Its extremely limited production makes it a particularly rare find.
In the glass, it displays a delicate rosé hue with golden reflections. The complex bouquet unfolds with aromas of roses, ripe pears and raspberries, accompanied by subtle floral nuances. On the palate, it is exceptionally soft, smooth and aromatic, with restrained acidity and a fragrant, harmonious finish.
