The Terra Costantino Etna Rosso DOC De Aetna 2023 comes from the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. It is made from 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio. The vines grow on sandy volcanic soils at approximately 450 to 550 metres above sea level, where significant temperature variations between day and night influence the growing conditions. Terra Costantino manages its vineyards according to organic and sustainable farming principles. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and undergo fermentation with around ten days of skin maceration, accompanied by short pump-overs. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in both stainless steel and oak tonneaux before undergoing further ageing in the bottle. The name De Aetna refers to Pietro Bembo’s historic work dedicated to Mount Etna. In the glass, it displays a ruby-red colour with garnet highlights. The bouquet combines red fruit, violet, liquorice and spicy notes of pepper. On the palate, it is intense and elegant, with a structured profile and a distinctly mineral finish.
