The Cannonau di Sardegna DOC Bantu 2025 from Antichi Poderi Jerzu is a lively red wine from Sardinia that perfectly brings out the special features of the Cannonau grape. Made from 100% cannonau, also known as grenache, this wine shows an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The scent unfolds aromas of wild berries and Mediterranean herbs. Cannonau is the most-cultivated red grape variety in Sardinia and is known for its intense fruit aromas and soft tannins. This grape grows particularly well in the Jerzu region, which is characterized by a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. The soils consist mainly of slate and lime, which gives the wines a special minerality.
The vineyards are located on south and southeast exposed locations at altitudes of 350 to 450 meters above sea level. This altitude and orientation ensure maximum solar radiation, which optimizes the ripening of the grapes. The wine is vinified using traditional methods and aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and fruitiness.
