Verdicchio

Verdicchio is a fascinating white grape variety that is mainly grown in the Marche region of Italy. It is characterized by its sweet, peachy aromas and a slightly oily texture. The primary flavors include peach, lemon curd, almond peel, oil, and salt. Verdicchio wines are dry, have a light body, no tannins and a medium-high acidity. The alcohol content is between 11.5 and 13.5%. The wines should be served at 3-7°C and do not require decantation. Verdicchio goes great with Marcona almonds, prosciutto, savory pies and quiches and is a great aperitif wine.
