The Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2023 from Col d'Orcia is an organic red wine produced from south-facing vineyards in Montalcino. Made exclusively from Sangiovese, it combines the freshness typical of Rosso di Montalcino with the depth and elegance of the terroir around Sant’Angelo in Colle. Thanks to the warm climate and limestone-rich soils, Sangiovese develops particularly pure fruit expression, refined spice, and vibrant structure in this area. The wine is aged in a traditional and restrained style to preserve the identity of the grape variety and the character of the vintage. Rosso di Montalcino has long been considered one of the most authentic introductions to the wines of Montalcino, offering a style closely linked to Brunello but in a more approachable expression. In the glass, the wine shows a ruby red colour with aromas of ripe cherries, wild berries, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is balanced and juicy, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, fruit-driven finish.
