The Rosenmuskateller DOC Abtei 2024 from Muri Gries Monastery Winery is an exceptional South Tyrolean sweet wine made from one of the region’s rarest grape varieties. Rosenmuskateller is cultivated on only a few hectares in South Tyrol and is considered one of the true rarities of Alpine viticulture. The vines grow around Bolzano at approximately 250 metres above sea level, where warm days and cool nights create ideal conditions for precise ripening and intense aromatic expression. The wine is aged in stainless steel and partly in barrique, allowing freshness, depth and elegance to come together in perfect harmony. In the warmer sites around Bolzano, the variety develops its characteristic floral intensity and the unmistakable aroma of rose petals. In the glass, it shows a bright light ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals layered aromas of red roses, dried apricot, figs and delicate spicy notes of nutmeg and clove. On the palate, it impresses with an elegant balance of sweetness and lively acidity, accompanied by fine fruit and a long, refined finish.
