Kaltern Chardonnay DOC 2025 comes from hillside vineyards around Kaltern with southern and eastern exposures. The vines grow at around 350 to 450 metres above sea level. The soils are characterised by clay-rich limestone gravel, which retains warmth while also providing good drainage. These conditions support a clear, balanced Chardonnay with pronounced freshness. For vinification, ripe and healthy grapes are whole-cluster pressed, followed by fermentation at controlled temperature. The wine then matures for three months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks. This approach helps preserve freshness and highlights the wine’s clean, precise character. In the glass, it shows a bright yellow colour. The nose is dominated by Williams pear and delicate notes of white flowers. On the palate, it is mineral, fresh and fruit-driven, with an elegant and well-balanced structure.
