The Granato 2023 from Foradori Winery is a distinctive organic red wine from Trentino, showcasing the exceptional character of the Teroldego grape. The grapes come from three selected vineyard plots in Campo Rotaliano near Mezzolombardo. The old vines, traditionally trained using the pergola system, grow in stony, gravel-rich alluvial soils. The name Granato is inspired by the pomegranate, reflecting the intense fruit character and concentration of this remarkable wine.
The vineyards are cultivated according to organic and biodynamic principles. Fermentation takes place in large, open wooden vats. The wine then matures for 15 months in wooden barrels, further developing its powerful structure and aromatic complexity. The combination of old vines, distinctive terroir and careful winemaking gives it remarkable depth.
In the glass, the Granato displays an intense ruby-red colour. Its complex bouquet combines aromas of dark cherries, black berries and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it is concentrated and full-bodied, with pronounced yet well-integrated tannins and lively freshness. A long, expressive finish completes the elegant character of this Teroldego.
