Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC
The Argentiera Bolgheri Rosso Superiore DOC 2023 is Tenuta Argentiera’s flagship wine and a superb expression of Bolgheri’s powerful yet elegant style. The 2023 vintage is a blend of 48% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from some of the estate’s highest vineyards, reaching around 200 metres above sea level, with soils composed of marl and clay alongside sandstone and siliceous rock.
The grapes are harvested by hand. Following temperature-controlled fermentation and maceration, the wine is aged for 14–16 months in barriques, tonneaux and large oak casks, followed by a further 12 months of bottle ageing. In the glass, the wine is deep and concentrated. The bouquet combines ripe dark fruit with spicy, balsamic and delicately woody nuances. On the palate, it is powerful and dense while retaining precision and balance. Fine-grained tannins, vibrant freshness and a long, layered finish give the wine remarkable elegance and excellent ageing potential.
