The Cornelius Riserva DOC 2023 from Schreckbichl Winery is an elegant blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that showcases the potential of South Tyrol’s finest vineyard sites. The grapes come from selected vineyards around Appiano, where calcareous moraine and gravel soils, combined with abundant sunshine, create ideal conditions for these international grape varieties. The interaction of Alpine freshness and Mediterranean warmth gives the wine depth, structure and remarkable balance.

The designation “Riserva” indicates an extended ageing period and represents a higher level of quality and complexity. Through additional maturation, Cornelius develops greater harmony, depth and character. Careful selection of the finest grapes and ageing in oak help enhance the wine’s complexity and ageing potential. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of ripe dark berries, black cherry and cassis, complemented by refined spicy notes and hints of cocoa and tobacco. On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with ripe tannins, a dense structure and a long, balanced finish marked by lingering fruit and spice nuances.
