The Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva DOC Lafóa 2022 from Colterenzio Winery is one of Alto Adige’s outstanding red wines, beautifully demonstrating the potential of international grape varieties in an alpine environment. The grapes come from selected vineyards around Girlan and Appiano, where warm days, cool nights and mineral-rich soils create ideal conditions for structured and elegant Cabernet wines. In Alto Adige, Cabernet Sauvignon develops a particularly refined balance of ripe dark fruit, freshness and spice. The elevated vineyard sites and significant day-to-night temperature shifts enhance aromatic precision, depth and elegance.

The Lafóa line represents the flagship range of Colterenzio Winery, crafted from selected vineyard sites and vinified with exceptional care. Since its introduction, Lafóa has become one of Alto Adige’s benchmark collections, known for wines with strong identity, remarkable expression and ageing potential. As a Riserva, the wine undergoes extended ageing, gaining additional complexity, structure and finesse. Oak ageing enhances depth while preserving the wine’s freshness and precision.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of blackcurrant, dark berries and ripe cherry, accompanied by elegant notes of tobacco, dark chocolate and spice. On the palate, the Cabernet Sauvignon is powerful yet refined, with dense structure, fine tannins and a long, layered finish.
