Muffato IGT della Sala 2024 is produced at Castello della Sala, the renowned Umbrian estate owned by the Antinori family. Located near Orvieto, this historic property is widely regarded as one of Italy’s leading producers of premium white wines and provides ideal conditions for crafting exceptional sweet wines.
The blend is composed of Sauvignon Blanc, Grechetto, Traminer, Sémillon and Riesling. The vineyards benefit from a unique autumn climate marked by regular morning mists that encourage the development of Botrytis cinerea, also known as noble rot. This natural process concentrates aromas, flavours and sugars within the grapes, creating remarkable richness and complexity. Each variety contributes its own character: Sauvignon Blanc brings aromatic intensity, Grechetto adds structure, while Traminer, Sémillon and Riesling enhance elegance and depth.
In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant golden-yellow colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of ripe apricot, peach, exotic fruits, candied citrus and honey, complemented by delicate hints of saffron, ginger and caramel. On the palate, it is rich and velvety, yet refined and beautifully balanced. The harmony between sweetness and freshness provides depth, elegance and an exceptionally long, lingering finish.
