Manincor Kalterersee Classic DOC Keil 2025 is made from Vernatsch grown on old vines. The grapes come from the “der Keil” vineyard, a monopole site located at around 250 metres above sea level. With its south-facing exposure and views over Lake Caldaro, the vineyard lies in one of the warmest areas of South Tyrol. The old vines are traditionally trained on pergolas and grow on calcareous, sandy loam soils. The 2025 vintage began with early budding and a warm spring, followed by sunny summer months with moderate rainfall. The Vernatsch grapes were harvested by hand in mid-September and carefully selected. After destemming, spontaneous fermentation on the skins with indigenous yeasts took place in wooden vats. Maceration lasted around one week at low temperature with gentle handling of the skins. The wine then matured for five months on its fine lees in large wooden casks. In the glass, it shows a bright, light ruby-red colour. The bouquet offers delicate fruit notes of cherry and toasted almond. On the palate, it is juicy, elegant and highly drinkable, with a harmonious structure and a fine, elegant finish.
