The Fontodi Syrah Case Via IGT 2022 is a single-varietal Syrah from Tuscany and is organically produced. The grapes come from the south-facing Case Via and Pecille vineyards near Panzano in Chianti. Fontodi manages the estate according to organic and sustainable principles, and all its wines are made exclusively from grapes grown in its own vineyards and carefully harvested by hand. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless-steel tanks with native yeasts and last for at least three weeks. The wine then matures for 24 months in French oak barrels. This measured ageing combines Syrah’s dark fruit with precise structure and refined spice. The result is a distinctive interpretation of the variety that expresses its Tuscan origin with elegance and depth. In the glass, the 2022 vintage displays a bright ruby-red colour with violet highlights. The bouquet is precise and complex, shaped by blackberry, dark fruit, black pepper, black olives and floral nuances. On the palate, the wine is elegant and lively, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a long, spicy finish.
