The Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2022 from Quarta Generazione is an outstanding red wine made from the noble Aglianico grape variety. This grape variety, often referred to as the “Barolo of the South”, is characterized by its ability to produce strong and structured wines with great longevity. This wine is deep ruby red with purple reflections. The bouquet has a complex aroma of dark berries, plums and black cherries, accompanied by spicy notes of pepper, licorice and a touch of tobacco.
On the palate, Aglianico del Vulture has a powerful structure, harmoniously integrated tannins and lively acidity. The aromas of ripe fruit and spices continue and result in a long, elegant finish. The volcanic soil is typical of this wine and the Vulture wine-growing zone, which gives the wines a particular minerality and complexity.
The climate in this region is continental with hot summers and cold winters, which allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The aging process of this Aglianico del Vulture involves extended storage in oak barrels, which gives the wine additional depth and complex aromas of vanilla and wood. This long aging period contributes to the development of characteristic tannins and balanced structure.
