The Falkenstein Pinot Bianco DOC 2022 comes from the sun-drenched, high-altitude vineyards of Val Venosta in South Tyrol. Above Naturns, the Pratzner family cultivates steep, terraced vineyards, where the Alpine climate and mineral-rich soils shape the distinctive character of this white wine. The vines grow at elevations between 600 and 900 metres on sandy soils containing granite, gneiss, slate, mica and quartz. Following careful hand harvesting, the wine ferments in large acacia wood barrels, where it matures for ten months on its coarse lees. A further twelve months of bottle ageing bring additional maturity and complexity. In the glass, the Falkenstein Pinot Bianco displays a bright pale-yellow colour with greenish reflections. The bouquet combines aromas of ripe apple, juicy pear and fresh citrus fruits with subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, it is juicy and elegant, offering well-structured acidity, lively freshness and harmonious fruit flavours with a refined texture.
