Chardonnay Riserva DOC Stegher 2024 from Kellerei Bozen comes from warm, steep vineyards above Bolzano. At around 650 metres above sea level, the Chardonnay vines grow on poor porphyry soils, which help shape the character of this powerful yet elegant white wine. The grapes are harvested towards the end of September. After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation is followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in barriques and tonneaux. A further period of bottle ageing completes the wine’s development. This more extensive maturation highlights its Riserva character, combining structure and elegance with excellent ageing potential. In the glass, Stegher shows a straw-yellow colour with slight greenish reflections. The bouquet is intense, with exotic aromas of pineapple, mango and honeydew melon, complemented by a delicate note of vanilla. On the palate, it is powerful and harmonious, with well-integrated acidity and a pleasantly mineral character.
