Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey-Chambertin 2022 comes from the prestigious Gevrey-Chambertin appellation in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. The grapes are sourced from two vineyard parcels, “Billard” in Brochon and “Aux Échezeaux” on the border with Morey-Saint-Denis. The vineyards are rooted in limestone soils with gravel and sand, providing excellent conditions for vine cultivation. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, carefully sorted, and gently vinified to preserve their character. The wine is aged for ten months on its fine lees in French oak barrels, a portion of which are new. The result is an elegant and expressive Burgundy that faithfully reflects both its origin and vintage while showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of Jean-Claude Boisset. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of ripe cherry and raspberry, complemented by delicate violet notes and a subtle hint of clove. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with a well-defined structure, finely integrated tannins, and a long, refined finish.
