Perched on the steep slopes of South Tyrol’s Vinschgau Valley, the Weißburgunder “Himmelsleiter” 2022 from Weingut Unterortl reflects its rugged terroir with clarity and depth. Grown on ancient gneiss soils at high altitudes, this Pinot Blanc thrives in intense sun and cool nights – resulting in a wine of structure, purity, and alpine finesse. In the glass, it shines a bright straw yellow. The nose reveals aromas of apple, pear, citrus zest, and delicate white flowers. On the palate, it’s crisp and linear, with vibrant acidity, subtle salinity, and a long, elegant finish. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves its precision and freshness.
