Riesling DOP Vigna Windbichl
The Riesling DOP Vigna Windbichel from Castel Juval Unterortl comes from a clearly defined single vineyard on the Juval hill. The vines were planted in 1993 and grow at approximately 700 to 760 metres above sea level, with a fully southern exposure. This exposed site is strongly influenced by sun and wind and is one of the estate’s distinctive Riesling parcels. The wine comes from certified organic viticulture. The altitude and pronounced exposure give the grapes a particularly individual character. The different vineyard orientations and wind conditions around Juval create distinct microclimates. Windbichel is one of the estate’s Riesling sites specifically designated as a single vineyard. In the glass, the Riesling is clear and precise. The nose shows ripe fruit, delicate floral notes and fresh citrus spice. On the palate, it is taut, lively and mineral, with fine acidity, good depth and a long, focused finish.
