The St. Magdalener DOC 2024 from Thurnhof is a classic South Tyrolean red wine from the area around Bolzano. Made predominantly from Schiava with a small proportion of Lagrein, it combines the region's traditional winemaking heritage with an elegant, approachable character. The grapes come from sunny vineyards in Aslago, on the southern slopes of Mount Virgolo. Here, the vines grow on soils composed of porphyry debris and glacial moraine deposits. Following fermentation, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels, preserving its characteristic fruit expression and harmonious structure. In the glass, it displays a light ruby-red colour. The bouquet reveals aromas of ripe cherries, strawberries, roses and delicate hints of almond. On the palate, it is fruity, light and well-balanced, with gentle acidity and soft tannins. An elegant, easy-drinking red wine with a harmonious finish.
