The Radoarhof Pinot Noir IGT Vedla 2021 is a distinctive organic red wine from Feldthurns in South Tyrol's Eisack Valley. The grapes come from a vineyard situated at approximately 750 metres above sea level, where the vines grow under unique Alpine conditions. The underlying bedrock consists of Brixen quartz phyllite containing mica and feldspar, while the upper soil layer is characterised by sandy-clayey glacial moraine deposits.
Winemaking involves spontaneous fermentation and three weeks of skin maceration. The wine then matures for one year in large oak barrels, used 500-litre oak barrels and concrete tanks. A further six months of bottle ageing completes the maturation process, adding depth and complexity.
In the glass, the Pinot Noir Vedla displays a bright ruby-red colour. Its complex bouquet combines aromas of wild berries, sour cherries and marzipan with delicate hints of hay flowers. On the palate, it is fruit-driven, full-bodied and spicy, with notes of pink pepper and cloves complementing the dark berry flavours. A complex, lingering finish completes this expressive red wine.
